1. Don’t select a general topic, try to be specific. Try to find an interesting and challenging topic that appeals you. It will put your enthusiasm in your research.
2. Don’t start working with yourself. Ask your teacher for approval of your topic, prior to go in to a full scale research.
3. Never ignore bibliography from start of your data collection. Take care in note-taking; try to be accurate and honest to jot down bibliographical information (URLs, author, title, publisher, place of publication, page numbers etc.)
4. Another common error that observed in term paper is lack of organization in writing. Try to organize your term paper logically, with a tentative INTRODUCTION, descriptive BODY, and clear CONCLUSION.
5. Don’t include any irrelevant information.
6. If you are using phrases from other writers, you must cite them correctly. It is called in-text citation. Different disciplines are following different style guides for in-text citation but most accepted is MLA Style (Modern Language Association).
7. Avoid plagiarism, try to make sure that all ideas or information must be in your own words, and if they are burrowed try to be creative in your writing.
8. Proofread your paper for any type of content errors (conceptual, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and paragraph). Double check the facts, graph, quotations and figures.
9. Don’t submit it in handwritten form. A typewritten and printed term paper is preferably better. Proofread it again for any mistake. Make your all efforts to ensure that your term paper is attractive, clean, organized, neat, and informative.
