1. Select a topic which is most relevant to your course outline.
2. Before beginning of a research paper, jot down all important

them; just brainstorm the ideas or arguments that you want to
cover.
3. Now, make an outline from these points. It's very difficult
to complete a comprehensive piece of writing, if you haven’t
done planning. Seriously, it is very significant.
4. Now, the introductory paragraph is the most important one in
your whole research
paper. This should be precise and interesting to attract the
readers’ attention towards it. It should introduce the main
theme of your paper.
5. Afterwards, write the body paragraphs of your paper. They may
be descriptive in nature. You can use examples, facts and
statements to prove your views regarding the topic. Try to start
a new argument from every new paragraph.
6. Write a conclusion that emphasize again in your introducing
sentences. Shouldn’t add any new information; just summarize the
previous ideas in a convincing manner.
7. Be careful about proper punctuation. Remember, you don’t have
to pay for punctuation! Avoid the run-on sentences, to do so,
read sentences louder, add comma when you took breathe and add a
full stop at the end of each sentence.
8. Create accurate
bibliography (footnotes or endnotes). Most of the student
don’t make it appropriate and hence lose marks. Don’t think it
as a superfluous part of writing; it is really important
research tool.
9. Don't forget to check your paper for spelling, grammar,
punctuation and typographical errors.
10. As history paper has lots of facts, statements and data. Try
to recheck them for accuracy.
11. Invite your friends to have a feedback on it and ask
suggestions for improvement.
12. Print it out and do proofread before submission.
