Introduction
Mathematics is over and over again defined as the science of
space and number, but a more appropriate definition is that;
mathematics is the science of patterns. The mathematician looks
for patterns in number, in space, in science, in computers, and
in imagination. Mathematical philosophy clarifies the
relationships amongst patterns. Applications of mathematics
employ these patterns to ‘explain’ and foresee natural
occurrences. (1)

Mother of Science
Mathematics is Mother of science. It is a division huge enough
to be clearly detached from science, and be positioned in the
category of being the mother of science. The fundamental
principle in mathematics is the study of measurement,
properties, and relationships of quantities and sets, using
numbers and symbols. Learning in the mathematical field can be
skilled with either numerical analysis or variable analysis, or
a combination of the two. The learning of mathematics can be
separated into five main categories.
• Arithmetic,
• Algebra,
• Geometry,
• Trigonometry and
• Calculus.
There are additional groupings within mathematics, and numerous
subcategories under the core categories. Other categories
include Number Theory, Transformations, Differential Equations,
Series & Sequences, and Probability & Statistics.
Conclusion
Mathematics can augment our perceptive of the world and the
value of our contribution in society. In view of the fact that
it is precious to us independently and communally, it should be
an essential part of the universal education of every young
person.
